The seal of the Work: the Cross at the heart of the world. It is not like a medal that encircles the cross, or restricts its extent, or where it ought to be.
The circle is not a circle. It is a globe. And inside that globe, that planet, that world, are you and me and the entire world of human beings, all of God’s creation.
Paul Miki and his companions were raised on crosses in the 16th century in Japan. They forgave their executioners. In 1931, Saint Josemaria had a mystical experience as he raised the host after the consecration. He heard the words from John 12: "And when I am lifted up on the earth, I will draw all things to myself….” He understood that this was Christ referring to being lifted up on the cross, but in a fuller sense he also understood that it would be the men and women of God who would lift the cross of Christ with his doctrine and to the summit of all human activities.
How do we draw all things to Christ? How does that happen? What indeed is the attractive, the magnetic power of the cross of Christ?

#43: Our brains naturally strive to maintain a predictable status quo. The upside of this is that we conserve energy and form habits. At the same time, it can lead to plateaus — in our skills, personal growth, and relationships. It can even cause our dealings with others to become rote, and we developed a fixed and superficial perception of those around us. Dr. Kevin Majeres and Sharif Younes turn to the work of renowned neuroscientist Karl Friston to understand better the importance of challenging this status quo.

#38: In this episode, Dr. Kevin Majeres and Sharif discuss some questions received by email about service. Working with a spirit of service means shaping yourself so that you’re the kind of person who is ready to give cheerfully to all those around you. Although this requires that the actual work you’re doing is helpful, the essence lies instead in the way you do it: with a willingness to form and prioritize bonds with those closest to you.
